History of the Valley Advertising Federation

 

In 1981, dedicated advertising and media professionals formed the Valley Advertising Federation. In April of 1982, the organization was officially voted in as an American Advertising Federation affiliate member. The first club had 65 members and became known as the AAF Rio Grande Valley.

 

Since then, the club has continued to grow and expand to offer membership to individuals and corporations engaged in advertising, PR, and marketing.

 

In 1992, a college chapter was established at The University of Texas-Pan American (now UT Rio Grande Valley) to provide students with opportunities to connect with the industry during their college years, and in 1994, participated in the AAF National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC).
